Newburyport:
Members of the Newburyport Office of Emergency
Management are of Volunteer status and have passed a
thorough background and State CORI check by the
Newburyport Police Department.
Emergency Management members work with civilians in
different capacities such as a disaster mitigation or
rescue to fund raising and public events (e.g. road
races & Yankee homecoming while providing public safety
such pedestrian road crossing or traffic management).
Members are provided NIMS (National Incident Management
System) training and must pass an Federal exam to be
part of the team.

Members are also provided CPR and Basic First Aid
training and certification.
